Laguna Hills Makeover

The project involved remodeling the interior of an upscale tract home built in the 70's (approx.). The existing floor plan was unchanged but certain aspects had to be closed up to enhance the aesthetics to today's standards.
The home had a 'conversation pit' abutting a fireplace (2 sided), which was not suitable for the current use. The fireplace was to be blocked up and the pit filled in to allow a full expanse of flooring in the entry area. The master bath was an open space that also abutted the sleeping area, which was not desired. Closing up an open niche above the sinks and adding a pocket door was needed to close up the space. This cut down on sound transmission as well.
The kitchen was to be torn out and replaced with the same footprint but with new cabinets, counters, and appliances. There would be new flooring throughout, new lighting, and new electrical plugs/dimmers throughout. Some new circuits were added for wine cooler and kitchen plugs. Drawings were made and submitted and approved.
Conversation Pit. Remove railing and all carpeting.
Existing Kitchen: Demo cabinets, tile, plumbing re-piped, appliances, electrical moved around, install microwave ducting (later), under cabinet lighting.

Started moving utilities: electrical, gas line, etc. Needed to leave pony wall for cabinet support and electrical at end of peninsula.
Utilities moved.
Fireplace blocked up, gas line capped, framing adjusted for later application of wood flooring.
Re-frame closets for lower doors, remove one side for alcove for TV, pocket door frame to close up bathroom area.

Drywall patching, whips for under cab lights, etc..
